EXPERIENCE
The AUTO-VOICE
RECORD YOURSELF UP TO
3 MINUTES ON A 6" VINYL
3Min
$20

Built by the original Auto-Photo Company in the late 1950s, the Auto-Voice allowed ordinary people to create intimate, physical keepsakes by recording their voice onto a small record—introducing many to the experience of hearing their own recorded voice.
Today, only two known Auto-Voice machines survive worldwide. This rare, fully operational example offers a unique opportunity to experience a nearly forgotten chapter of recording history.
The Exhibit
On the Record brings together rare artifacts, photographs, recordings, and artwork that reveal the connection between photobooths, music, and analog self-expression.
